How Simple Ideas Change Work: The Story of Alexey Drozdov
Alexey Drozdov is a warehouse logistics manager who became one of the brightest leaders of Kaizen initiatives in the fourth quarter of 2025. His path to this recognition is an example of how true leadership is not about chasing titles, but about striving to make work more efficient and easier for yourself and your team.
“To be honest, I didn’t even know that I had become a leader. For me, the goal was never to collect as many Kaizen ideas as possible,” says Alexey. He just always wanted to simplify the processes that employees encounter every day. And it is this approach that has allowed him to implement some truly breakthrough ideas.
Whenever Alexey sees a warehouse process, he asks himself: “How can I make it easier?” It is from this simple question that his ideas are born.
Among the most important for him is the simplification of entering product photos into the database using a Telegram bot. Previously, the process took several people: one took the photo, the other processed it and added it to the system. Now an employee takes a photo, indicates where to add it, and the bot does all the work automatically. Another important initiative is the acceptance system, which speeds up the processing of product movements between warehouses. “The goods arrived, scanned it, and the system accepted the entire container. No matter how many loads there were,” he explains. These innovations have already been implemented in all of the company’s warehouses, significantly increasing the efficiency of the team’s work.
Alexey is convinced that ideas are born where a person notices a problem. “If something can be improved, you need to do it. Don’t be afraid, don’t think about mistakes. Even if some of the ideas are not accepted, the rest will work,” he explains. And he adds: the number of proposals generates quality.
The motivation of the team is also important to him. “It doesn’t matter who you are — a driver, a warehouse employee, or a manager. If you see that something can be improved, do it. An idea takes a maximum of ten minutes,” he advises. Colleagues play an important role in the implementation of innovations: Vadim Nosenko helps to implement almost all initiatives, and the manager Serhiy Hlybchenko constantly supports new endeavors.
Oleksiy’s experience in the company is almost 20 years. He came to the first warehouse in Kharkiv almost by chance, on the advice of friends, and since then he has gone through a huge development path with the company. Over the years, he has mastered all the necessary professional skills — from Excel to SQL.
Outside of work, Oleksiy loves simple joys: fishing, outdoor recreation, time with loved ones. It is important for him to maintain balance and recharge with ordinary little things. But even in such moments, he does not cease to notice how processes can be simplified or life can be made easier for people around him.
