Excursion around the plant
During the excursion around the plant, the guests saw that the production strictly complied with safety requirements and high quality standards were observed. The manufacturer invests much money in new developments and technologies. The plant workers test new compositions of friction mixtures and improve the process in their own laboratory, and install new equipment in the factory workshops.
In 2018, new production lines appeared at the plant. For example, the guests were shown a laser complex with AFX-2000 CNC for metal cutting. Support plates for blocks on BelAZ are manufactured there. The important acquisition for the plant was the line for the production of steel wool — one of the components for the manufacture of asbestos-free masses. Line production volumes fully cover the need of the Tribo group of companies, which is about 400 tons of raw materials per year.
Workshop "TRU friction linings and pads"
Continuation of excursion, the guests listened to workshop on TRU products. Representatives of the Tribo company, process engineer Elena Soroka and development director Vitaliy Smyk, spoke in an accessible and interesting way about the technical characteristics of the pads and linings, the components of the friction mixture. The seminar participants saw the material that the pads are made from, and figured out examples of how a high-quality pad differs from a poor-quality one.
Tribo recommendations for safe driving:
- Install linings of one manufacturer on all axes.
- Check the condition of the brake-shoe lining and the drum after at least 15–20 thousand kilometers.
- Check the condition of other parts of the brake system.
- Replace the brake linings in time, groove and replace the drum.
