New tires in 2018
During the year the company managed to present several new products: prototypes and working models, and also launched new tires. As of the main innovations for the winter season, which are already in the market or coming soon, reliable and affordable WinGuard ice Plus WH43, Winguard Ice 2 is optimal for ice and snow covered roads and new for off-road vehicles — WinGuard Sport 2 SUV. We would like to add that the WinGuard ice Plus WH43 and Winguard Ice 2 models have become sales hit this winter.
Specially for the US market, the company has expanded the size range of Roadian MTX Mud Terrain Xtreme tires with the new dimension-types: 33, 35 and 37 inches. Another innovation for off-road vehicles is the Nexen Roadian AT 4x4. They are planed to be released by the company for sale in 2019.
N’FERA Sport tires have been developed in NEXEN for sport driving and that will be commercially available closer to the summer season.
Tests of tires
NEXEN received high ratings from auto magazines and car clubs for all-season tires
Reifenpresse German portal published the results of tests from several German automotive magazines for 2018. And proved once again that expensive tires are not necessarily overtaking by more affordable according to technical specifications.
The permanent leader in all-season tires - Michelin — this year showed not the highest technical results, despite the maximum prices. But the NEXEN tires have become an excellent alternative in this segment - together with high technical performance, they are also affordable.
Another confirmation of the excellent performance of NEXEN was the victory of the N’blue 4 Season in the all-season tire test of the prestigious German automobile club - ADAC.
Awards
NEXEN has received two design awards at the Red Dot Award competition: the Red Dot Design Award-2018 for the N’Fera AU7 premium tire and the Green Good Design Award-2018 for the Breathe concept tire. At the iF Design Awards competition, the company was presented with another award - for the design of Winguard Sport 2 winter tire of the premium class.
In addition to design awards, the company received an award of US$ 900 Million Export Tower Prize from the Department of Commerce, Industry and Energy of South Korea for the annual export of tires for 900 million USD.
Plans and cooperation
NEXEN continues to cooperate with Melbourne City FC. The company has signed a three-year contract with the football club, and in 2019 it will be the second year of partnership. Plus, NEXEN continues to cooperate with Manchester City.
The company also has news regarding the deliveries for the automotive industry. In 2019, NEXEN will supply the N’Priz AH8 tires to the new Volkswagen Jetta of the seventh generation. The car has already been presented in Detroit at the auto show.
As well the company has the serious plans to expand production. In the beginning of 2019, NEXEN is going to launch a new tire factory in Žatec, Czech Republic. The main office in Germany has moved. Now the headquarters are located in the new building of Kelkheim, near Frankfurt.
We are waiting for new achievements in 2019 and are preparing for the new season with NEXEN tires.
